Never Let Go

WOW!
It's been a while.

Umm, i'm not sure when i last blogged. I think it was probably right after or during spring crew..and then i got a message saying it was missed. By the way if their are any spelling errors involving the letter , it's because the key is stuck. AH! Lol. S. The letter S, i stuck. Ah it's like glued. Ok so i have a few things to say. Firstly, on saturday i went to a movie with a friend, we saw, 'the Guardian'. She oggled Ashton Kutcher. I oggled Kevin Costner. (You know you would too, Skoch.) Anyway, i'm not sure if this song plays anywhere else in the movie but i'm going to copy and paste the lyrics. I know some of you hate when people do this but i urge you to read it and think of not only Coast Guards (like in 'the Guardian) but firefighters, policemen, and other people who put their lives on the line day in and day out for everyone other than themselves.

Never Let Go
by Bryan Adams
Can you lay your life down so a stranger can live?
Can you take what you need, but take less than you give?
Could you close every day without the glory and fame?
Could you hold you head high when no one knows your name?
That's how legends are made - at least that's what they say
We say goodbye - but never let go
We live we die - 'cuz you can't save every soul
Gotta take every chance to
Show that you're the kinda of man who
Will never look back - never look down
And never let go
Can you lose everything you ever had planned?
Can you sit down again and play another hand?
Could you risk everything for the chance of being alone?
Under pressure find the grace - or would you come undone?
That's how legends are made - at least that's what they say
Wow. Ok so my life right now. I've been living in residence at Tyndale University College and Seminary since the beginning of September now. My roomate's name is Jason. He's, 20? Engaged, and a pretty decent chap. The workload is ok although as i would, i wish it was lighter. Oh well. Food is alright although its not the ritz. I quite enjoy the chicken fingers and fries, or just fries. Or just an Oreo ice cream sandwhich, depending on the day and my mood and of coure, how friggin' hungry i can sometimes get. Ah this S problem is really getting to me i have to go back to everything with the letter to fix the mistakes that it is causing me.
Can you say frustrating?
Good.
I can too.
So..what else? Oh, community. I've always had a passion for community. I love people, but never in my life have i quite experienced anything like the community at Tyndale. There's always people around and they're usually pretty friendly so i'm enjoying that too. About a month or so ago, right after moving in, i found out how to play Euchre. And i haven't looked back since. Ah. Best of 9. Shh...4 a.m? Meh. Who sleeps? Hah that reminded me of Madagascar, "who wipes?" Lol, oh King Julien. Oh. So i'm thinking of entering this talent show, but im missing one large integral piece, talent. Hmm maybe i could wing it on pure wingingness. What do you think?
So now, i just realised i haven't really said anything astonishing and therefore won't gauge much of a reaction and get no comments. So i know this will sound stupid so i'm just going to ask a question, an opinionated discussion starter, if you will..and see how it goes.
Underwear.
Comfort?
Necessity?
Inconvenience?
..not an issue?..(for some reason i'm expecting a comment from Fred for this one..)..
I need a life.
Anyone know where I could get one?
I do.
Anybody want to guess?

So i need to blog..

So i realised that i may need to blog once in a while, as most other people do..so instead of writing some boring peace on "what i'm doing" or "how i am" i'm going to put up some pictures from last night of spring crew. We had a fire and such but here are some. Enjoy!

Cabin 5 Alumni

This is for Twix and Cinderella, especially.
Today i felt like true Cabin 5 Alumni.
I made a pizza, and, yes, i paper toweled the grease off the top.
Usually i don't..but I hadn't seen that much grease in one place since Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez and Tom Cruise alligned themselves against the "Socs" in S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders."
Oh Ponyboy.

Musketeers, triplets, and Global..

What do these mean to you?
To me, they mean the number 3.
One, two, THREE!

I agree with Rico when he said that i should say something about the number three. In this day and age it really doesn't seem that people know what it means. Clearly in my previous blog i stated that people were to only put three guesses. Some put more than three. So i put that part of the blog in block letters (the part where it says only three). And yet still some people decided to put more, but i won't mention any names (Megan). But that's ok.
I think people have been watching too much of Monty Python and the Holy grail.
I.e "One, Two, Five! Three sir. Three!"
There.
And Megan don't take it personally that Rico pointed out your faults..it's not your fault that he can count. Oh oops shouldn't have said that.
Also, who invited the teacher. You're right. Natalie, this is a blog. No need to bring the teachings in here. HAH. Fight the power.
Furthermore, about the bed/couch thing..good response. It was about equal. However not everyone plans their naps. That's a little too far, if you ask me. Haha joking!

Naaaaaaaame that tune, if you can..

Hey guys! So here's my newest idea. Recently i downloaded a whole whack of TV Theme Songs. What i'm going to do is put a bunch of the opening lines of the songs here and everybody gets to try and guess 3 and ONLY 3 (this has to be stressed because the first 4 people who have commented, some have guessed about 10, lol). Don't guess the ones people already have! And come on, don't use google to cheat, just have fun! Here we go....oh and by the way some of them arent' the FIRST words in the song but are in the first part as some of the first words start with the TV title itself!
1. Just a good old boy, meaning no harm
2. Thank you for being a friend, travel down the road and back again
3. In 1972, a crack commando unti was sent to prison
4. Watch out, cuz here we come. It's been a while but, we're back in style so
5. A horse is a horse, of course and no one can talk to a horse, or course
6. So open up your morning light, say a little prayer for i
7. Listen to a story about a man named Jed, a poor mountaneer barely kept his family fed
8. They're creepy and they're cooky
9. Are ya ready kids?
10. Yes, no, maybe..i don't know, can you repeat the question?
11. Hello world there's a song that we're singing, come on, get happy!
12. There's a time for time and a time for living, take a chance and face the world
13. One is a genious, the other's insane
14. What ever happened to predictability, the milkman, the paperboy, evening tv?
15. It's a rare condition, this day and age, reading the good news on the newspaper page
16. Cast your cares away, worries for another day, let the music play!
17. They fight, they fight, they fight and fight and fight
18. Life is a way that comforts me and carries me across the sea of hope
19. Now this is a story all about how
20. When you walk down the road, heavy burden heavy load, i will rise and i will walk with you
21. Hey baby i hear the blue's a callin, tossed salad and scrambled eggs
22. Like sand through the hourglass
23. Well we're moving on up, to the east side
24. It seems today, that all you see, is violence in movies
25. When i wake up in the morning, and the alarm gives out a warning
26. Life is a hurricane, here in
27. If you're out on the road, feeling lonely and so cold
28. So just sit back and relax, you'll laugh til you collapse
29. We've been on the run, driving in the sun, looking out for number one
30. In the eyes of a ranger, the unsuspecting stranger
P.s give me the number too so i know what you're answering!

beds or couches?

Ok...
So i realise by this title people might be like what?

I had a nap today on my couch and i realised i think that they are the most rewarding.

Beds: You get tons of sleep, yea. But it's expected, i mean that's where you sleep the most.

Couches: Most of the sleep we get on couches (unless your wife puts you there) is often very unexpected and refreshing.

What does everyone think?

Bed?

Or couch?

Hockey.

Ottawa's Pre Game Show
Isn't it pretty?
I wonder if those lasers have blinded anyone yet?
Might explain the two goaltenders games the other night.
Hmm..interesting..

Red, white, gold...and beef.

Ok. I have beef. Hence my MSN name. Let me break this down for everyone. I, like many who have lived in the nations capital before me, am an Ottawa Senators fan. (Please note, any comments demeaning the team i love or saying they suck, although you opinions are entitled, will be deleted so save yourself some time. Thanks.) I whated Friday nights game with my dad.
Here's what happened:

First period:
Buffalo oppened the scoring only .35 seconds into the game, 1-0.
Ottawa tied the scorer 2 and a half minutes later, 2-2.
15 seconds after that Ottawa took the lead, 2-1.
3:36 later Buffalo tied the score, 2-2.

Second period:
1:47 in Ottawa took a 3-2 lead.
3:29 in Buffalo tied it 3-3.
4:15 in Ottawa took another lead, 4-3.
19:30 into the second period, Buffalo tied it 4-4.

You can already see how this would become frustrating.

Third Period:
.16 seconds in Ottawa took a 5-4 lead.
18:23 into the third period Buffalo tied the game 5-5.
Ok so with a minute and .37 seconds left in the game, it's tied. Whatever, tie game.
A minute and 2 seconds later ottawa takes the lead. So with 11 seconds left, it's 6-5 for Ottawa.
Then buffalo scored. 6-6. I was like, ok so we can't hold a lead.

So overtime, we gave up the puck 18 seconds in and their captain scored the winner, 7-6.

What a game, i thought. Amazing chances, goals here goals there back and forth until the cows came home. Then i thought so this means Buffalo is up 1-0 in our series. They need 3 more wins to take them past us into the third round. Thats' not too bad. So our goalie had a bad game, he'll do better. So we gave up the puck a LOT, that's ok cuz there's still a lot more hockey to play. And that was my opinion.

Then i opened TSN.ca and read lots of readers comments saying Ottawa will bomb and how our goalie doesn't belong in the NHL because of one performance. Then someone noted that it's not how you start it's how you finish. So ottawa lost the first game, SO WHAT?! I don't know why i'd post this, no one cares. It's just frustrating that people jump to the worst possible conclusion just because of one game.

Anyway we'll take Game 2 i'm sure. We outplayed them in Game 1, and as long as we can stop giving it up so often, then we'll take some more! Anyway that's my rant. Hope you had fun reading.

Oh and funny story i was watching the Simpsons while typing that and it has the BUS with Otto racing Marge in her car. And the bus is bouncing up and down and Milhouse states,

"It's just like Speed 2 but in a bus instead of a boat"

Anyone who doesn't get that..well..oh well.

And p.s if anybody asks, red white and gold are a few of Ottawas colours. Beef cuz i had something to say. LOL i only say this because i know their will be questions as to what was happening (re: Certain confusion over my last blog title..lol.)
